The SELPA's Governance Council
The East Valley SELPA Board of Directors is the governance council of the EV SELPA. It is composed of the Superintendents from each participating school district, the Assistant Superintendent of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Student Services Branch, and the Superintendent of the San Bernardino County Superintenent of Schools. The County Superintendent services as the Chair of the EV SELPA Board of Directors while the EV SELPA Administrator serves as Secretary to the Board. Members of the East Valley SELPA Board of Directors are responsible to their respective local school Boards for the provision and oversight of special education services.
The EV SELPA Board of Directors is responsible for reviewing proposed SELPA policy and may approve, disapprove or request revision of policies presented to it. The Board of Directors may also initiate policy development. The EV SELPA Board of Directors has the responsibility of adopting necessary policies for the operation of SELPA activities, including, but not limited to, the implementation of the Local Plan for Special Education.
